task:

I can't completely agree with this opinion.

In the 21st century, it's obviously wild animals have less space to leave and we must spend more time and money on preventing them from dying out, maybe in some people's mind it's normal that the weak should die out while the strong will win, but i still hold my opinion for 3 reasons.

The first one, they bring liveliness，A book named the silence spring describes a picture that all the animals are died, leaving the human beings alone, people feel lonely, scared, depair, helpless……How can you imagine a scene living just by ourselves?

Then, for the second reason,i think , they are parts of the whole world. They share the same rights as human beings, How can we deprive their rights brutally?

The third reason is very simply, they are our friends. They provide us medicine, fur, and even happiness. They are the faithful friends though they can't write or speak, but our emotion are linked,we need each other.

I don't want to use a painting or video to show my child about those wild animals dying out for the lack of protection. Let's do something for them.

But how sentences can be shortened is a tricky thing. Posted below is a real email. If people here are interested, I will post more examples.

Example 1: Returning a book

Hi Edward,

Hope your summer was fruitful...

I just got back from staying in Texas all summer. Whenever you're in office can you drop off the SAS manual? If I'm not in just have it put in my mailbox.

Thanks

Miles

Comments:
- Fruitful is not a word I use a lot, but obviously it is ok to be used this way.

- I just got back from staying in Texas all summer. ==>I just came back from Texas, where I stayed all summer.

- have it put in my mailbox: Since Edward does not have access to Miles' mailbox, he has to ask Miles' secretary to put the manual in Miles' mailbox.

[此贴子已经被Yeti于2004-9-13 13:54:19编辑过]
